Next up it was Murder Nova and Daddy Dave for old times sake and for the $12K.ĭaddy Dave’s Sonoma had raced 3 hard races and was definitely a little worn out. By the end Daddy Dave was able to pull ahead for the win. They both hit the light at the same time and it was back and forth between the cars in the beginning. The trick for Big Chief was to murder the light cause Daddy Dave was not going to take The Crow for granted. This meant it was time for Big Chief and Daddy Dave to race, giving us a slight preview of what could come later in the season. In the 3rd round one of the drivers was able to draw for a bypass, that lucky driver was Murder Nova. From there Murder Nova kept extending that lead to the finish line. Murder Nova hooked right off the line and immediately pulled out several car lengths ahead. Then it was Murder Nova versus the Vanilla Gorilla. Dave was fast out of the gate, Kamikaze was able to keep up for a little but Daddy Dave pulled far out ahead once he shifted into the higher gears. If Daniel could keep the Blazer straight it had a good chance of beating The Crow, but it weaved even more than it did the 1st race. Murder Nova erupted off the line as soon as the light went off and eliminated any hope for Cody’s Small Tire Small Block Mustang.Īside from Derek, all of the OKC boys made it into the 2nd round. Daniel and his Blazer weaved all over his lane but had enough power to beat Student Driver’s Small Tire Nova. Kamikaze took on Johnny Red’s import and won even though the RX7 was faster than expected. They were neck and neck out of the gate but as soon as Chief took The Crow into high gear he smoked Derek by a few car lengths. Derek was still hurt by his loss to Big Chief from the week before and was hoping to reclaim a little bit of his credibility. Next up was a race between two OKC boys, Derek and Big Chief. Boosted’s car wasn’t working 100% and only crawled out of the gate giving the victory to the Vanilla Gorilla. 2nd up was BoostedGT versus the Vanilla Gorilla. Dave had lost to Ronnie in the past, but right off the line it was obvious that The Sonoma had it in the bag. First off was Daddy Dave against Barefoot Ronnie Pace. The notable Student Driver showed up with a Small Tire Nova, Daniel in an S10 Chevy Blazer and lastly a Small Block, Small Tire, Twin Turbo Mustang driven by Cody. From the rest of the country we had the legendary Barefoot Ronnie Pace with his Green Big Tire Nova Yenko, Darren and his Small Tire Fairmont known as the “Vanilla Gorilla.” We also had an import Honda RX7 with a Chevy Small Block Engine driven by Johnny Red. Of the OKC crew we had Big Chief, Daddy Dave, Murder Nova, Derek, Kamikaze with the resurrected ElCo and newly rezoned, BoostedGT. Obviously a few of our 405 OKC boys had to be there. Cash Days is a yearly event that BoostedGT throws down in Texas and invites out some of the fastest drivers in the country. It was an exciting event to watch and surely more exciting to race in. It was grueling, tense and pushed the limits of all drivers and cars. Cash Days! It was a 12 driver free-for-all, $1,000 buy-in with one winner of a $12,000 pot.
